FastDec gives IP firms and accountancy practices a reliable, fixed-fee way to have clients' Declarations of Solvency (Form LIQ01) sworn remotely by a UK solicitor. The bottleneck we remove

In most solvent closures the process is straightforward until the directors have to swear the Declaration of Solvency in front of a solicitor or commissioner for oaths. Arranging an in-person appointment, often at short notice, is a common cause of delay — and the section 89 declaration has to be made within the five weeks before the winding-up resolution, then filed at Companies House within 15 days. FastDec turns that step into a short video call that fits around your schedule and your client's, often available within the hour and with no extra charge for booking late.

Why IP firms and accountants use FastDec

  • A single fixed fee of £125 per declaration — the same price whether your client books weeks ahead or needs an appointment within the hour. There is no surcharge for last-minute or same-day bookings.
  • We schedule around you and your client. Appointments are often available within the hour, so the witnessing is never the step that holds up the section 89 timeline.
  • A fully remote video appointment with a UK solicitor — no travel for your client and no posting of original documents.
  • The completed, witnessed declaration is returned by email, ready to be filed at Companies House with Form LIQ01.
  • One predictable process you can reuse across every solvent closure you handle.

How referral works

  1. Tell us you would like to refer clients. A short email is enough to set your practice up.
  2. Send your client to fastdec.co.uk to book their own appointment, or pass us their details and we will arrange it around their availability.
  3. Your client meets a UK solicitor on a short video call — often within the hour — and swears the declaration.
  4. The witnessed declaration is returned by email — ready to file at Companies House alongside Form LIQ01.

Fixed price, fast scheduling

There is nothing to negotiate. Every Declaration of Solvency is the same flat £125, and the price does not change for a last-minute or same-day appointment. We build the service around fitting your schedule and your client's, so a tight deadline becomes our problem to solve rather than yours.

What FastDec is — and isn't

FastDec is a facilitation service, not a law firm. We arrange the remote appointment at which a UK solicitor witnesses your client's statutory declaration; we do not give legal or insolvency advice and we do not take over any part of your role. You and your appointed liquidator continue to run the MVL exactly as you do now.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Declaration of Solvency be witnessed remotely?

Yes. A Declaration of Solvency is a statutory declaration, so it must be sworn in front of an authorised person such as a solicitor. Companies House has accepted declarations of solvency made by video conference, and FastDec arranges exactly this type of remote appointment. You remain responsible for confirming that a remotely witnessed declaration is appropriate for your client's particular case.

Do you provide legal advice or run the MVL?

No. FastDec only arranges the remote witnessing of the declaration. We are not a law firm and do not give legal or insolvency advice. You and your appointed liquidator continue to run the Members' Voluntary Liquidation exactly as you do now — we simply remove the witnessing bottleneck.

How quickly can you witness a client's declaration?

Appointments are often available within the hour, and we work around both your schedule and your client's. There is no extra charge for a last-minute or same-day booking, so a tight section 89 window or the 15-day Companies House filing deadline does not have to become a problem.

What does it cost?

FastDec charges a single fixed fee of £125 per declaration. It is the same price whether the appointment is booked weeks in advance or needed within the hour — there is no surcharge for last-minute or same-day bookings.

How do we refer clients?

The simplest route is to direct your client to fastdec.co.uk to book their own appointment. If you would prefer us to contact the client and arrange it around their availability, email us their details and we will take it from there.

Can you handle companies with several directors?

Yes. Where more than two directors are making the declaration, each director who makes it must swear it in front of the solicitor. We can arrange appointments for each director who needs to be witnessed.
